Hacemos un rafting!

Elections are finally over. Though I saw a lot of cops and national guardsmen on the street that night, there didn’t seem to be any problems. The candidate I appeared with a couple of entries ago was elected Governor of Mendoza. With all the posters, TV ads, the army of babes and a photo-op with me, he couldn’t lose.

Mendoza is a major destination for “Adventure Tourism.” They have rock climbing, rappelling, rafting, paragliding, zip lines, mountain biking and all the

high-end, REI sports. After 8 months here, we decided to participate in some of this adventure. So we went on a little river rafting excursion last Saturday. It was a 12 km trip on a class I to III river. Just fine for newbies. It was a blast, but the water was very cold. No one fell in though. Afterward we had to wait for some of the others in our van to do their zip lines and stuff. In the meantime we took a little hike by the river, then got nice sunburns sitting around a tiny pool.

Some cacti were flowering.
